Perfect Course for those interested in taking their flat water or tripping skills to the next level. Learning to paddle rivers opens up a whole new world to wilderness travellers.
This course will offer both Paddle Canada and ORCKA certification and take place in Elora Ontario (about 1 hour West of Toronto).
It is two days - May 28th and 29th 2016 from 9-5pm each day
Participants should be confident flat water paddlers and will need to bring a PFD, helmet, paddle, wetsuit, and throw rope with them. You do not need a paddling partner for this course (I will provide one if you don't have one), but we will need to make sure we have enough boats with proper floatation for everyone.
Cost- $90 before April 30th $120 after
When you register you will get a detailed kit list and directions to the course.
Looking forward to paddling with you!

SPOT-2 Satellite Messenger
SPOT is a must-have as a backup on any remote trip. It's simple to use and reliable,  one-of-a-kind device that combines GPS technology with proprietary Simplex satellite communication to pinpoint your exact location anywhere in the world. Its capabilities include: sending 911 emergency distress signal; HELP message via email or any mobile device and “I’m OK” email/text message that includes the link to Google Maps, showing your precise location to friends and family back home! SPOT is waterproof to a depth of 1 meter for up to 30 minutes, and it floats.

I also use SPOT on trip close to home, in a non-emergency situations. For example, I press OK to let folks at Paddler Co-Op office know that we finished Lower Madawaska trip so they should but the kettle on a boil for hot soup!

For more information or to buy your SPOT, visit www.avantura.ca
