Lower Madawaska River

Printer-friendly versionPrinter-friendly version

I live close to the Lower Mad and paddle it frequently. Please join me for a fun summer run down from Aumond’s Bay to Buck Bay. This section of river is one of the best novice to intermediate whitewater
day trips in southern Ontario. The river is pool and drop with good portage trails around all difficult rapids. I would suggest you make a weekend of it by camping at Paddler Co-Op or Jessup’s Campground,
and enjoy another day of paddling at Palmer Rapids.
Kayaks or whitewater canoes with flotation bags are required. Bring a lunch and we’ll enjoy a meal on the river.
