Chiniguchi/Sturgeon River Loop with Gary & Heather Ataman

This trip is a combination of Sudbury's Chiniguchi region which resembles Killarney's white quartzite mountains and turquoise lakes, and Temagami's Sturgeon River which is characterized as the big sister to the Spanish River for its continous CI (mostly) to CII (some) rapids.

If you are looking for a beginner whitewater trip then this trip is for you.

Itinerary
Itinerary description:

Starting at Matagamasi Lake we will head north through a series of lakes for around 50 km where we will intersect the Sturgeon River. Then down the river a few days and return to our put in spot through a series of lakes. The total distance is 150 km.

My daughter has done this trip before and she tells me she ran all the rivers in a Grumman boat with no issue, so we should be ok with our Kevlar's. She tells me the river moves at a good flow with lots of swifts.

She also has passed on all her detail knowledge of the hot spots to me so we should have a good time exploring.
Cover around 20-25 km a day at a moderate steady pace.

Start Saturday July 12 and planned finish Saturday July 19, 14 (if running late Sunday).

Required Items to Bring:

Back country canoeing gear. Canoe packs, Kevlar boat. Etc.
