Thaidene Nene National Park flatwater canoe trips?

I'm exploring the feasibility of a self-guided flatwater canoe trip inside the confines of Thaidene Nene National Park, in the NWT.

I see that an outfitter called Jackpine Paddle runs a 12-day 65 mile guided trip through exclusively flatwater lakes, with just one short portage. It is billed as being an "easy" trip.

My partner and I are expert flatwater canoe trippers. But all of our experience to date has been in Canadian Shield country. We have zero Barrens canoe tripping experience. So, is it viable (safe? prudent? etc.) to paddle small, flatwater Barrens lakes as a solitary couple?
