[Updated with flow criteria] Grand River - Glen Morris to Brant day trip

Updated April 29 with water level criteria and difficulty rating.

Rain is expected this week, so am adding go/no-go criteria to this trip. I will email participants Thursday night at the latest with a decision.

The following will be the criteria (Brantford gauge)

<40 - easy trip, anyone welcome
>40 - water is moving faster, intermediate and up, drysuits/wetsuits mandatory
180-200 - bigger waves but doable
>200 - trip cancelled

Itinerary description: 

UPDATED FOR START POINT:

We will meet at the the rail trail parking lot in Glen Morris parking lot at 9 am, then run shuttle to the take-out at Brant Conservation area (nominal entry fee required).

We will portage around Penman's Dam in Paris and stop for lunch on the river.

In the afternoon, we will go from Penman's Dam to Brant Conservation Area.

About 20 km paddling in total

Required Items to Bring: 

A whitewater-capable boat and gear
Water levels likely to be high and moderate air temperature on Saturday - wetsuit or drysuit mandatory
Helmet highly recommended

Recommended Items to Bring: 

Lunch
Spare paddle, pin kit, first aid, throw rope
